Pros and Cons

When it comes to the Lego Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus Ambush 76958 buildable toy set, there are certainly some pros and cons to consider. Here’s what we found:

Pros

  • Inspires creativity: This set is perfect for kids who love to build and create their own stories. The Jurassic Park theme is sure to spark their imagination and keep them entertained for hours.
  • Includes a minifigure and dinosaur: The set comes with a Dennis Nedry minifigure, a Dilophosaurus dino figure, and a Barbasol can accessory element. This gives kids everything they need to recreate their favorite scenes from the movie.
  • Portable: The brick-built Jeep is small enough to take with you on the go, making it perfect for everyday play sessions.
  • Intuitive building experience: The LEGO Builder app guides kids through the building process, making it easy and fun for them to assemble the set on their own.
  • Great gift idea: This 211-piece set makes a great birthday or holiday gift for kids who love dinosaurs and Jurassic Park.

Cons

  • Target Audience: As a long time Jurassic Park nerd, I was very excited by these special 30th Anniversary sets and I rarely buy Lego for myself. So as as glad as I am to be able to add to my collection and seeing new Jurassic Park products aimed at newer generations, some aspects do feel like the target audience is aimed squarely at children. It hasn’t stopped me buying it and enjoying it though!
  • Limited playability: While the set is great for recreating scenes from the movie, it may not offer as much playability as some other LEGO sets. Kids who enjoy building and displaying their creations may get more out of this set than those who prefer more interactive play. If you’re more into displaying your Jurassic Park or Lego products then this won’t be an issue for you.

Customer Reviews

We took a look at what other customers had to say about the Lego Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus Ambush 76958 Buildable Toy Set, and we found that it received a lot of positive feedback. Many reviewers mentioned that they had a lot of fun putting the set together, and that the various gimmicks from the movie, such as the Barbasol can and spinning dock sign, were a nice touch.

Some customers did note that the set is a bit pricier than traditional Lego sets, but many felt that the extra cost was worth it for the licensed product and the memories it brought back from the original movie. Overall, we think that the positive reviews are a good sign that this set is a great choice for anyone who loves dinosaurs and Lego.

Our Review

After spending some time with the Lego Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus Ambush 76958 Buildable Toy Set, we are happy to say that it is a great addition to any Lego collection.

There is plenty in this set to recreate one of the best scenes in the Jurassic franchise and lots of attention to detail. It’s a compact set but the Jeep is a solid build and the figures instantly recognisable.

There’s even a little frog which I’ve placed behind the East Dock sign, I believe the frog is an Easter egg in reference to the frog DNA used to fill the gaps when cloning the Dinosaurs.

I’m looking forward to trying the other JP 30th Anniversary Lego sets and may even buy another Dilophosaurus set in the future. This is because the one I bought has now been incorporated into an enclosure for our Ghost Mantis, which you can read more about by clicking the button below.
